I know it's been quite sometime since my last post. That's what happens when your back goes out on ya. I've spent a majority of my time in bed. My back is feeling a bit better. Well enough to sit here and update everyone. We are in dire need of donations for the cats and kittens.
I understand it's the holiday season but the rescued animals don't know that. They are just happy being in a comfortable setting. No cage bars to look at. Room to run and play.
Maybe I should do a drive like the Salvation Army or Toys for Tots. I see no difference in the plight to get toys for kids and getting funds to purchase food & litter for the foster kitties.
My fosters are content to play with empty bags of M&M's or a rolled up ball of tin foil. They don't know how much I stress over whether or not I'm going to have money to feed them or take them to the vet for check ups. And the biggest expense of medical certificates and transportation cost.
Please don't forget those of us who rescue these babies. Some rescuers never actually foster. The cats/kittens are sent to a vet directly from animal control and then taken to a boarding facility where they sit once again in a cage until they are adopted out or sent to another rescue. It's these babies who need your help the most.
I have never charged a fee to care for these fosters. They have a visit with my vet (Dr. Robinson) and then I open my home to them where they roam freely about the house until transportation is scheduled to pick them up.
I can't always foster due to my health. I also can not foster without the assurance someone is going to fund the foster's until they get on transportation as I have no way financially to care for them.
Please, during this holiday season, set aside a few dollars to help with the cost of rescuing.
Thank you and God bless.
This blog is dedicated to the rescued cats & kittens from NC animal control services that were slated to be killed.

I'm in a real pickle folks. I've had these 6 foster cat's for over 7 months now. This was supposed to be a temporary situation.
I'm also having to beg here and on Facebook for donations or pledges to feed them and purchase litter for them. Let alone if another rescue can step up and take them, there are no funds for medical certs or transportation cost. And fleas were a big problem this year just like last year. As you know, flea medication is not cheap.
And all were sick when I was asked to take them in. It was expensive first for treating them for severe malnourishment, then ringworm and finally distemper.
What am I to do? What are the cats to do? Unfortunately, I've had them so long, they are now between 8 months to a year old. Well past the cuteness stage when they have the best chance of getting adopted.
All but one has been spayed/neutered. And he has a medical problem with his eyes which will make it more difficult to be adopted.
This blog was started to help give the cats & kittens jailed at Gaston Animal Control, Gastonia NC, a better chance of finding their forever homes. But I've had no time the past six months to go there, take video of them and then upload the videos to YouTube and tell their story here.
Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy the six I have were spared from dying. But winter is upon us and my own cats need their space back to stay warm and out of the cold.
Please, if you can spare a little, the donation button is to the right. If you would prefer to send a gift card, Wal Mart is the cheapest and I can get more for the money there. Email me, button to the right, and I will give you the address to send the card. If you would prefer to purchase the items, I feed them KitnKaboodle and I use Wal Marts brand of scoopable litter. There is only one Wal Mart in Lincolnton. You can purchase the items and give my name to pick up the items (Michelle Wright).
Most importantly, if you know of anyone who would love to give one of these babies a forever home, contact me. Or if anyone can take over fostering them, contact me.
And a huge THANK YOU to a few ladies who stepped up last month to help with food & litter. I pray for you because your pledges helped out greatly!

First I'd like to apologize. I've been so busy with not only my own animals but the six fosters I have. So I've not been able to get back to Gaston AC to continue the video's of the cats & kittens they have.
We are hoping a spot will open up at the rescue up North. We are going to try and keep the three brother's together and Lola will go with Egypt & Paintball.
I want to thank Jo Ann, Mary C., Karen A. and Cathy V. for the recent donations to help these six.
It's been hard keeping them fed the past few months. Without donations, it's very difficult for me to feed them and purchase litter for them.
Four of the six have been s/n. All have a very healthy appetite.
Here are a few pics from today. Remember, no donation is too small and the six purr babies would greatly appreciate it.
Oh, and we just had a large rain storm. So you can see they tracked in a lot of mud! First pic is of Paintball, Egypt, Sleepy & Spiderman.

Please share this blog with others. These babies need exposure and funds until they get the green light to go up North. Bless you.

Funds desperately needed for transport & medical certs
Hi everyone! I am so very close to transport time. It will be either this Friday or next. I need $125 for the transportation, $50 for medical certs and $?? for any other medical items/medication needed to get these babies up North.
I can not do this without you. I am only a foster with space. I do not have funds to care for and transport the animals.
I have had some very generous donors who have paid for s/n cost (5 will be going tomorrow), food/litter, medical and all other necessary items.
I now need some donors to get these babies, 6 of them, up North to a rescue who will place them for adoption.
Once my foster babies are on transport, I will continue volunteering at Gaston Animal Control, taking videos and interacting with the cats and kittens to post so all can see the temperament (shy, scared, playful, loving) and know which area to send them after rescue. I miss this part very much.
Any donation is never too small and as always, I appreciate it and the babies appreciate it.
Also, we have other cats and kittens that are in boarding that were rescued. The financial responsibility for these has fallen on Jo Ann's shoulders. I am asking for you to help her. ALL donations above my expenses will go towards the other cats and kittens that have been rescued.
Jo Ann is a silent hero in rescuing cats and kittens. She never complains about the thousands, yes thousands, of dollars she spends on the medical treatment and boarding of these precious babies to save their lives. She needs to be helped. Without her, many of the cats and kittens at Gaston would be put to sleep.
Please rally for our cause.
Let's stop the killing!

5 kittens need you!
I happened to be at Animal Control when these 5 babies were dumped there. The person said she found them in her basement! What a load of crock. Anyway, I was on the phone with Jo Ann (she coordinates rescues, transportation and so many other wonderful things for cats/kittens), and we agreed to take them.
We really need some donations for these babies. They are being fed kitten glop (you can substitute goat's milk with a can of whole evaporated milk) and Iames kitten food soaked in water. They are also getting Nutri-Cal and medication for their eyes. The medicine is a bit pricey at $24 for a small tube. Of course, this is on top of the cost of litter.
Any donation amount would make us super grateful. Here are the 5 kittens. And if anyone would like to adopt any of them, it's possible we may be able to help with transportation.

Feeding time!
Here is a picture of half the rescues from AC. They love to eat! There is a total of 19 in foster care right now. The food and litter is an enormous expense. If you can help, please see the right side of the page. There is a direct link for a chip in that will cover food/litter/medical cost for these babies. Also need help with networking to find permanent loving homes. Thank you!
And the rest of the babies who are sick or quarantined:

Help save cats & kittens from NC animal shelters
I wanted to get a post up to let others know this blog is just being born. It's being born out of love for our four legged animals. It's being born out of love for God's creatures. If you too have a soft spot in your heart for cats, please bookmark this page and our youtube page. Enjoy the videos that are posted. They are all of rescued cats & kittens. Remember that every cat or kitten you see in these videos need a "forever" home.
If you can not give another pet a loving home, please consider donating. ALL money goes toward cat food, kitten food, litter & medical bills.
I do not profit from fostering. I foster because I love all animals. I'm partial to cats & kittens. I am on disability and have a large home. I can put a roof over these babies heads and spend lots of quality time with them. But I do not have the funds to care for them on my own. And I want to take this time to thank those who have already donated or chipped in to our previous rescues and the current rescues. Without your support, saving these lives would not be possible.
